International Mobility Program Mobilité Francophone

The International Mobility Program Mobilité Francophone has for purpose to facilitate immigration of Francophone or bilingual foreigners and to encourage the development of minority official language communities in Canada while respecting the Canadian culture.

“We want francophone minority communities in Canada to continue to be vibrant and growing. That’s why we’re going to encourage skilled francophone workers to come to Canada and settle in communities outside Quebec, and we’re going to encourage them to apply for permanent residence if they would like to stay,” added John McCallum, former Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees of Canada.

Before to apply, it is important to know that Canadian employers must apply for this program and not the foreign workers.

As of June 1, 2016 foreign candidates may be eligible for the International Mobility Program if they:

  • Have an intermediate level in French or are native speakers (language assessment results may be required)
  • Have an offer of employment from an employer based in Canada
  • Plan to live and work in a province or territory outside of Québec
  • Are qualified under a National Occupation Classification (NOC) 0, A or B

N.B.: Therefore, they are exempt from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
